Long Wooden Handles
Almost all the Glaser hand tools need a wooden ‘broom’ handle, preferably ash, 1500 mm (5 ft) long and 28 mm (1⅛ in.) diameter. Glaser tools are designed for hard work, and narrower handles might not take the strain.
Our first advice is: please try to find the right handles locally! By encouraging local hardware and DIY shops, hopefully you will enable them to go on supplying what you need without too much being spent on transport or postage.
Many of our customers found it increasingly hard to get the right size broom handles in good quality ash, and often nothing at all seemed to be available.
After a long search, we found a supplier of solid ash handles, complete with a taper to fit all the Glaser Hand tools (and other garden tools). To fit to the Glaser Aluminium Rakes, simply cut 20mm off the tapered end.
